Join us on a walking tour of the Selmon Greenway to get your morning started before the conference day begins. Learn more about the expressway from private- and public-sector planners, including topics such as technology and safety, master planning, connection to parks and landmarks, and green infrastructure. This is a great way to see how transportation projects can be seen as holistic, connective, and community-driven. Hosted by various members of the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA).
Bring comfortable walking clothes and shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, etc.
Pedal Tampa

The fun doesn’t end when sessions are out. Join Pedal Power Promoters and League Certified Instructor, Christine Acosta, for a 90-minute bicycle tour around Tampa using a Lime electric bike. The tour will begin with a short safety talk, tutorial on how to use the Lime mobile app and Lime ebike features. Standard ride charges will apply. Once everyone is comfortable, Christine will guide the group and showcase Tampa’s emerging active transportation network and hidden gems. A variety of facility types will be featured, including Cycle Tracks, Quick Builds, Neighborhood Greenways, and more. Experience the best ways to access Tampa by bike while learning about the city’s current and future micromobility infrastructure.

Water Street + Union Station Walking Tour

Starting at the Marriott Water Street, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Tampa’s newest urban neighborhood, Water Street, and its oldest active transportation asset, Tampa Union Station. After a brief walk along Tampa’s Riverwalk, attendees will explore Water Street, where walkable streets, trails, and paths connect residences, offices, shops, and hotels. Here, attendees will learn about how this groundbreaking urban neighborhood was designed to enhance interactions with the built environment, the nearby Hillsborough River, and each other through wellbeing and outdoor living.
Next, attendees will walk through the heart of the Channel District along the Meridian Greenway to Union Station. Here, attendees will learn about the building’s 112-year history of passenger rail service, including twice daily Amtrak service, the role of the not-for-profit group Friends of Tampa Union Station, the upcoming building renovation, and future efforts to activate the station beyond transportation with special events, food and beverage options, and community spaces. This walking tour will be led by Friends of Union Station President Brandie Miklus, AICP, and Friends Board Member Robert Modys, AICP, CNU-a. Tampa Union Station is a short walk to the free TECO Line Streetcar’s Publix stop.
